What resizing means

Resizing changes pixel width and height. You can reduce an image, enlarge it, or enter exact dimensions for where you plan to use it.

Aspect ratio

Keeping aspect ratio updates one dimension when the other changes and prevents stretching. Percentage presets are always calculated from the original size. You can turn this option off to control width and height independently.

Enlarging an image

Enlarging an image increases its pixel dimensions, but it cannot recover detail that did not exist in the original file. The browser uses high-quality interpolation, although a large enlargement may look less sharp.

Resizing and compression are different

Resizing changes dimensions; compression changes how image data is encoded. The displayed output size comes from the file actually generated, not an estimate based on the percentage.

Privacy and orientation

Processing uses createImageBitmap and Canvas locally. Embedded orientation from supported photos is applied before drawing, and the file is not uploaded to Utilsha.
